Totally agree! I have been there in 2004, including Armenia.
Great countries, great people, great food and wine (cognac in armenia) indeed!
Batumi and Kazbegi were my favourites!

i went to Georgia ... i had a good time ...

i went from Trabzon (North-East Turkey) to the Georgian border ... crossing easy enough, no hassle or anything and then took a taxi to Batumi ....althought, i later found out you could take a bus much cheaper .... then i stayed in a hotel for $11/night, cheapest i found.. really liked batumi, especially the seafront .. then i was off to Tbilissi, i stayed at a lady house, she rented rooms to backpacker ..very cheap $3.50/night ..very friendly ..i walked around the city for hours on end ... i didnt do much else there ...... ok place ..just didnt have a guidebook or anything so i just wandered around the place ..nice to be somewhere not overloaded with tourists ..also the night train from Batumi to Tbilissi cost like $2 for the 10 hours ride ..very cheap ..although i was a female travelling, i felt safe enough, i had a soldier in front of me and a men with two kids to take care of me in case something happened ... very friendly people but wasnt able to converse much obviously, i didnt speak must georgian, i just knew a few words ...

i definitivaly go there again ......... carol
