Hi guys,
Do you know any nice, clean budget hotel in Sydney?
If possible I want it to be in a nice neighborhood, with easy access downtown and to places of interests in & around Sydney. (What I read about Kings Cross area changed my mind about choosing an accommodation there.)

Thanks in advance!

z :)

I have assumed you want a private room for 1. After a quick look at both hostelbookers.com and hostelworld.com, 1 place looked as though it may be OK, Sinclairs at Surry Hills. There are many restaurants in the area and it is not too far from Central station. Since I am in the city 3-4 times a week, I could check out any hotel/hostel you maybe interested in around the city. I was lucky that someone did this for me in Athens last year, so it is my turn to do this for someone else.:

when i was there i stayed right at the end of kings cross, 5 min walk 2 town, and it was wonderful. stayed in a hotel called O'Malleys, was very clean, friendly and convenient.
Cost £100 for the week which i thought was really good personally for a hotel there. Included breakfast and there was good nightlife in their bar downstairs

I stayed in Macquarie Boutique Hotel - Wentworth Aveune - its a close walk to the musuem metro stop - and you can walk down to Circular Quay or to Darling Harbour - we did it plenty of times! Its a basic hotel but its clean a bit frayed around the edges but clean - you get a continental breakfast, it has a Thai resturant within it plus a bar & a bottle shop too. We found the staff to be great really helpful, oh and theres a laundry on the top floor - plus internet if you need it (didnt use it so dont know prices) We stayed over new year so the rates lm sure were inflated but google it and see what you come up with - l really liked it!

We stayed at the Park Regis Sydney. The rooms were clean and cheap and the hotel was in a good location. Darling Harbour is only a 5 min walk, 10-15mins to Circular Quay and the Rocks and was also right near the main shopping area.
