Me and my friend are planning on going to oz in sept 07 on a working visa and also wanting to go to New Zealand after this aswell.
We've never done the travelling thing before so any advice regarding travelling, best places to see, cities to find work and general hints and tips on both countries would be fab and much appreciated.
Also anyone who is planning on going around the sametime as us who wants to get in touch would also be great!!
Big thanks x
Lots of travellers do the 'lap of the island' route for Australia - and sure there is plenty to see and do and a lot of it is great.
But, if you are serious about doing some work along the way to help your finances, you will need to go inland. There is always plenty of work in places like Griffith, Mildura and Renmark regardless of the time of year.
And you will get to see a different part of Australia- you know, the stuff that is off that beaten tourist track.
I'll admit that I am biased about Griffith, but it is a place where you can get work, meet people and feel at home. The backpackers hostel at Griffith always has information about what work is available so it is worth contacting them.
great thanks for that info!! much appreciated
