Egypt - 11 days or 16 days?

Travel Forums Africa and The Middle East Egypt - 11 days or 16 days?

Hi there,

I'm from UK and planning my first time trip to Egypt in December and I have two choices: 11 or 16 day trip. Do you think 11 or 16 days will be best?

Thanks,
Lily

Hi Lily,
Depends on how much you want to see and can travel around. You could easily spend a week in Cairo doing all the sights there, plus there is Aswan where you could spend 3 days on a felucca going down the Nile. There are a billion different temples in various places plus the deserts which are utterly amazing. Not to mention the Red Sea. Personally I would take 16 days and do the lot, it just depends on what sort of things you want to see.
Any other advice you need, just give me a shout, was there for a few weeks last October, from North to South, but not the east.

Hello Lilylla

When traveling, I think more days are always better than less. More time to relax. So, I say 16.

Did Egypt in 2003 and I would strongly advise 16 days or even more if you can wangle it.
Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Nile cruising, Dahab, etc plus the Western Desert (which I didn't manage to do).
So so much to see and enjoy.
