I'm looking into travelling around australia for about 6 months with my brother. Is it easy to find work? and is it possible to save enough to survive in the U.S for 3 months?

What kind of work would you be looking to do? Any idea yet of where abouts in oz? East coast/west coast?

Hi Koalagirl,

Were going to be doing both east and west coasts hopefully. Is it easy to just float from one place to another finding work. We'll do any kinda work. I'm used to working in McDonalds!!! ha.
I'm liking the idea of doing some fruit picking in the sun though.

I think you'll find it pretty easy to get work as you travel around oz. The only time I'd suggest gettining work might be difficult is if you arrive in late Nov/Dec. Unfortunately in the lead up to christmas, most businesses have already taken on their full quota of seasonal casuals.

Many backpackers pick up bar/pub jobs and also fruit picking is hugely popular - mainly because if you complete 3 months fruit picking you can extend your WHV.

Check out:
Harvest Trail website. The website allows you to search for fruit picking jobs in Australia based on the month(s) you are available.
