Hey there everyone
I am a 28 year old guy from Denmark who plans to move to LA in October 2008.
I have no contacts in LA so therefor my question is:
Which internet sites are my best bet at getting an apartment and work in the LA area?
My field of work is IT-technician.
I'd strongly recommend craigslist for just about any major metro area in the US.
This is also a fun site to check out the favorite local hangout: www.citysearch.com
I agree with the one suggestion on Craigs List. This site is now international so to see the scope go onto www.craigslist.com. Then hit Los Angeles. They are probably in Denmark now also. (I am going to Poland in Sept. and they are even there!!) The main paper there is the LA Times and I think their site is www.latimes.com. I lived in LA for years but now live in Palm Springs which is about 100 miles east of there. I receive the LA Times and would be glad to send you the Sunday ads if you want. You can't put email addresses here but I will try..psrdatverizondotnet. Use the usual abbreviations and send me your address if you want the ads. LA is a fun city but you are smart to research it in advance.
yes, craigslist for apartments- especially if you're looking to share/rent a room. One major thing to keep in mind is that this city is HUGE, and you may be more interested in living in some parts than others. Location is MAJOR. Like everywhere I suppose, but it's possible to be 30 minutes on the freeway from where you want to be and still be in "L.A."
Anyway, I'm a native, so feel free to contact me with any and all issues.
Also, I'm pretty sure you can access the classifieds of the L.A. times at their website. Might be something in the L.A. Weekly as well.
i say www.craigslist.com, too. you can do anything and everything on craigslist. just try to stay away from the weird postings. but you can read them for your enjoyment.
Thanks for your great replies:-)
Jep, that craigslist is pretty good and so are the L.A. Times and Weekly websites.
Hehe, yeah some of those craigslist postings are kind of freaky!
