Will be arriving in Bankok at the end of Sept 07 and will be flying on from Singapore. No real time scale but was thinking anything from 1 month to 3 months really. Initially was gonna just work my way down through Thailand and Malaysia but am now considering including Cambodia, Vietnam and possibly Laos. Any suggestions with regards of a route i could take? Is it best to make all the trips by train/bus or is an internal flight recommended?

Thanks

If you have three months, a nice loop from Bangkok-Cambodia-Vietnam-Laos-Northern Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore works great. If you only want to give it a month, stick to the bangkok to Signapre route.

or........

Thailand (Bangkok) -Laos-Cambodia-Vietnam (can all be done by bus, possibly boat in some places or fly depending on the time you have), then fly back to Thailand, working way down Malaysia into Singapore!
Maybe 4 months!!

There are several companys that do cheep flights in the area, between a lot of those destinations, if you check them out early enough you can pick up flights for a couple of quid.
