Hi Tamara,

I need you to give us the following info:

1. Explain how you actually upload the photo (preferably step-by-step, i.e. which page you go to, what information you keyed in, what button you click).
2. Did you get any error message after uploading it?
3. What is the size of your photo?
4. What is the filename?

Answers to the above could help us identify the problem you're facing.

If you try to upload the same image here: http://www.imageshack.us/, does that work? If so, could you give us a link to that uploaded image? (Don't resize it, and give the "Direct link to image" link.) If not, it might be that your firewall or virus scanner or somesuch is interfering, or maybe you're behind a proxy server which doesn't allow file upload?

THNX FOR THE HELP GUYS...SORRY IT HAS TAKEN SOO LONG TO REPLY! I HAVE SINCE MY LAST POST MOVED TO A NEW HOUSE.HERE IN SOUTH AFRICA ONE HAS TO WAIT A WHOLE THREE WEEKS FOR ANY TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICE!!! (GUESS IM PRETTY USED TO THESE FRUSTRATIONS.) I HAVE TRIED TO UPLOAD VIA THE IMAGE SHACK.NOT SUCCESSFUL.I REALLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND THIS I MEAN AS AN EXAMPLE THE ONE PHOTO IS 1.5MB?? I FOLLOW THE UPLOAD PROCEEDURE AS NORMAL,ITS QUITE BASIC BUT NO LUCK.

Ok, so since uploading to imageshack also fails, that means this is not an error with this site, but lies on your end. We can offer suggestions to fix it, but ultimately fixing it will be up to you.
First of all, try saving the image in a photo editing program with a higher compression (so that it'll have a smaller filesize), or resizing it to be smaller in dimensions (for the same effect). A photo of 800x600 pixels should be of perfect resolution for displaying on the internet, and not take up more than 100-200 kb (about a tenth of its current size). Then try uploading that. If this works, it probably means your connection is slow, and you were hitting a timeout on the server.

If that doesn't work, the next things to look at would be your firewall (open its preferences and see if you see anything about "file upload" anywhere). If you're not technical enough to figure that out, I fear your best remaining option is to find someone there who's technically inclined and can help you track down the cause.

Which one? Resizing it, or the firewall?

Hi Hien,

I saved the pic in a Kodak Software Program aswell as adjust my firewall protection ,between these two something worked. Needless to say I am thrilled, so now i can start logging in some of my travels.
Just have some 50 odd boxes to still unpack, but hey... its all in a days' work for Superwoman! (as if ...);)
