Hello travellers, im a 25 years old guy travelling by myself to Asia next summer, i will start in Beijing and want to go south to Laos cambodia, vietnam and then north again to hong-kong, and ending in shanghai, i have 56 days to do this, So do you think that is enought time to do it? should i Apply in Spain for all the visas for all this places? any advice will help me a lot, i speak no mandarin at all. And im travelling with a low budjet, do you think that 2000 euros will be ok to do this, i will travel by land and sleeping in cheap places.

Has anyone made this before?
im quite nervious so and exited.
thank you
antonio

Well, if money is no problem then your "round about choice" of countries to visit may work out. But if you want to save a little $$$ why don't you bundle the Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong together and then do the Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam together as a second "bundle!"

You may have to fly from Hong Kong to the second bundle of countries otherwise you will end up wasting a lot of time with land transportation.

If I was doing the trip by myself I would stick with China (both places,) Macau and Hong Kong and probably go home. Or I would do Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam as a second trip, then go home. I would check the prices for air fare going to Hong Kong first and from there to mainland China. Often in Hong Kong you can find discounted flights and advice on ground transportation within China. Up to you!

This second suggestion will be much cheaper than the China/Hong Kong selection and you can use cheap air and cheap land transportation from Thailand. I would go to Thailand first and return to Thailand for my return flight home (second selection.)

Hey karazyal!
what route would you take from thailand? to cambodia and then up through vietnam and laos before going back to thailand or another route?
the reason im asking is that im travelling through these places for about 2 and a half months starting in june and cant figure out the best route!

Id agree with the bundling if u want to cut costs. My two cents' worth on this is that after touring China, u could take a ferry to Vietnam, and then from Vietnam, it would be N to S from Hanoi to HCMH and then a bus to Phnom Penh, then if u want to see Angkor, take a bus again/boat to Siem Reap, then detour back to PP, bus to Kratie, then to Stung Treng and finally into Laos. That makes things neater in my opinion, the bundling... 2 months would be a bit tight if u are budget conscious, which means a lot of overland, and be warned that road travel in SEA can be painfully slow sometimes especially if it gets flooded or u happen to encounter one of the infamous highways from hell...

In my opinion,56 days are not enough time to visit these countries.
and you lost so many attractions.
Yes,you have to apply visa suppert letter for China.
Have a nice trip.

Since you're only gonna spend 56 days for all these places, I suggest you to fly to Bangkok from Macau with Airasia, a budget airline operates in most of the SEA countries. This saves you a lot of time on traveling. I believe it is the fastest way to get to SEA from the far east at a reasonably low cost. Check out the air fare at http://www.airasia.com/

Thaks to everybody, for the help, i think as you people said 2 months its not enought so i will be travelling only in China this summer, i know that its going to be really hot, but is the only time i can go this year, so if anyone have any suggestions of travelling solo in china for the summer that would be great to heard, i start the 5th of july and have to get the 26th of august in shanghai, do you think that 2000 euros will be enought?
