Hi guys - My sister leaves for her year long travels and she has a few urgent questions if anyone can help?
Question one: Is it easy to apply for chinese visa ar the chinese embassy in bangkok?
Question Two: Did anyone have any difficulties getting their visa for china in bangkok?
Question Three:Can they get a visa at the boarder of china like thailand, cambodia and laos? Anything they need to be aware of in specific??
Question four: Is there a bus or train that takes you from north vietnam (hanoi) to china (hong kong)?

1. Yes. You can also save the hassle of going to an embassy and pay a small fee to a travel agent in Bangkok to do it for you. You can also apply for a visa in Hanoi.
2. I've never done it, but I've also never heard of difficulties.
3. No. You must have it beforehand
4. There are trains a couple times a week that go from Hanoi to Nanning in China and unto Guangzhou and to Hong Kong. As far as I know it's also quite easy to catch a bus to the border and then continue on by bus or train.

I am not much help, with your questions.
But, I will say, that I think your sister must get her visa, before arriving in China. I dont think they are available, on the border.
When does your sister leave, anyway? It only took me around a week, to get the Chinese visa, in Dublin. It is probably the same in the UK. So, if she could get it, before she leaves, the UK, it would save her some hassle, in Bangkok.
She leaves in 2 weeks - !! but I think she will get to china in august....
