Hi all,

Can anyone please recommend me a good accomodation in Gold Coast whereby it's affordable and accessible? Whereby I can go to theme park and beach easily.

I will travelling alone and also I need a place which is also safe.

Thank you very much for any information.

Cheers,
Jessica

Hi Jess. Lovely to see someone from Malaysia wanting to enjoy our country. My wife and I love your country, particularly Penang where we have been 13 times already. As for your request there are any number of places on the Gold Coast because of its popularity. I do not know how big your budget is in Australian dollars but I would suggest you get the Google search engine up on your computer and put in Gold Coast Accomodation and then work from there knowing what sort of money you have and converting it of course to Australian dollars. The beaches are right along the Coast as the name suggests but the worst times to go there are during school holidays when Australians go there from everywhere. Try and avoid those holidays and you should be okay and more so if you go about May when the season is quieter...although the water will be cooler. You can catch buses to the theme parks of which there are a few and the shopping is very good also particularly in Southport, a suburb of the Gold Coast. Have fun. :)

Hi Buckra,
Happy to know that you enjoy visit Penang..
I have searched Gold Coast accomodation, there are plenty hotels, resort, motels and apartments.

But I am clueless which one to book as not sure how accessible to the public transportation or walking distance.
Any recommendation is a great help.

I will be going on 14th April, is it a bad time?

Cheers,
jess

jesscmy, buses are the main form of public transport on the Gold Coast.

In Surfers Paradise, most of the hotels are within walking distance of the Gold Coast highway which the majority of the buses run on.

Hi,
I stayed in the Sleeping inn hostel which is a short walk from the bus station and within easy walking distance to the main town of surfers paradice.....the hostel is well set out into a few self contained appartments so you get your own kitchen and living room between a few of you...they also have a small pool and have activities planned for most night if you feel like a night out....they can also help you plan some trips from here and i found them very help full...they'll also pick you up free from the bus station in a limo if you phone them when you arrive......
Have fun and don't forget to go up the Q1 tower...80 stories high and a fantastic veiw over the gold coast.
happy travels
danny
