Hi Everybody!

Does anyone know any amazing 'outdoor' places in Australia/New Zealand to visit? Any national parks you can recommend?
Would also love to know about any activities which can be done in these places.

Thanks for your answers!

Can't say I've been to a heap of national parks around Australia, but I definitely enjoyed the Grampians (in western Victoria). Great hiking, rock climbing, abseiling and I think it's also pretty popular as a fishing ground (but don't quote me on that :)).

I have been living in Oz for 8 years and have done a lot of travelling in and around Oz and one of the most amazing places I have been to is Litchfield National Park NT. My husband and I hired a camper van (which is pretty cheap considering it is your transport and room for the night, no camp site charges) and travelled around did lots of walking, lazing in swimming holes and learning about Aboriginal history. It was fantastic.

There is also a great place in Central Queensland called Carnarvon Gorge. Here we saw Platypus, Echidna, Wallabies. And they have the King Fern which was around in prehistoric times.

Of course there is the Whitsunday Islands - paradise!!

Feel free to message me if you would like any further info.

Happy travels

I definately enjoyed the Blue mountians...near Sydney. So many trails to hike AND awesome waterfalls! So much you can do there! If you realy like outdoor activity and hiking, don't hesitate to head south into Tasmania. There are so many national parks and beautiful coastlines to explore....Wineglass Bay to name one of them.
