Quoting mikeyBoab

My mum and dad dressed me up as a television for the school halloween party when I was about six.

I still have nightmares . . .

That must have been terrifying. What program did they put on?

My father cut out a picture of an . . . sniff . . . AIRPLANE!!! Why dad, why!?! He stuck it to the front of the big cardboard box that was meant to be the body of the TV. People asked me all day if I was meant to be an airplane.

That's just cruel. You should sue them for child abuse!!!!

Hee hee! My Mom once made me a pumpkin costume and no one could figure out what I was. A turnip was the closest guess. The orange hat with the green pointy bit must have thrown them off. I realize now how much work she must have put into making it, though.

this is so very australian that I just had to post it....

when I was in primary school, we had to dress up every year for Australia day as something distinctly Aussie. One year my dad dressed me as a giant jar of vegemite, complete with a little yellow cap as the 'lid'!

i think i was about 6 at the time.... fortunately i was too young to be embarrassed!

as penguin

oi!

Good question!

last few I've done:

heroes and villains: went as Sharon stone from Basic instinct

80's night: went as a be-legginged/leg warmered clubber!

Jungle night: went as the spirit of the jungle dressed in hairy green material and green body paint as vines all up my legs :)

But I guess if it was just a general fancy dress party, I'm quite enamoured of gorilla costumes or else I'd go as a 40's film noir heroine like Mary Astor from the Maltese Falcon

I think Mel should be dressed up as Captain Kirk, after all she's doing the perfect William Shatner voice impressions here on TP.
