April 5th is the end of the financial year here in the UK, so people need to send of their tax assessment forms and other things too. So it's a stressful period for many UK tax payers...

Does everyone have to send in ON the 5th or can they do it early, perhaps that will help

I don't think I know what I'm even talking about

Sorry my post was a little vague. April 5th is the last day of the financial year in Britain. Those people who own their own businesses or who have complex financial affairs normally have a VERY busy time as the financial year comes to a close, and the finance departments of big companies also have a lot of work to do. We have to ensure all our finances are in order for the end of the year, I look at it as having a nice new clean slate for the new year, you have to add up all your income for that year, all the bills you have paid and all the bills you are going to pay in the following year for goods received in this year. Agghhh! See my point. its horrible.
On April 6th the government tax office starts to send out tax returns to everyone that needs them, and I have to put down all my financial details from the previous year. If everything is in order at the end of the year its easy, if I haven't done the end of year stuff right then I am going to have big problems.
Sorry to ramble on.

Simply understate your income and overstate your expenses.

It works a treat.

Hmmmm, we'll have to let our accountant in on that little secret

Looks like the US has it good....ours are due April 15...yay, an extra 10 days

The best way is to make your money all year, then flee the country on April 4th, right after you report that it's all your accountant's fault!!!!
