approx 4.30 (some trains are a little bit slower, and some a little bit faster, but that's a matter of minutes)

The cheapest tickets I see right now, is 24.50 pounds

Check it out for yourself on:

If I was you, I would be expecting to pay a bit more than that, it sounds too cheap!! I travelled a couple of years ago from london to newcastle (which is shorter journey) and cost me nearly 80 pounds! I find you have some fares advertised but when you actually try to book them they tell you they are not available anymore!

Avoid travelling before 10am and after 4pm, and good luck! ;)

Agree with Miromar. I did this trip a few years ago. It took me ages (the train was late) and cost a lot of money (around £150 for a return ticket)
Might be cheaper (and much faster) to fly. BMI usually has good rates.

The best/cheapest way is to book tickets online, earlier the better.
Virgin Trains have a central booking, ie you can use their site to book on any of the train networks time take in about 6hrs (i think)
I booked 3 return tickets from london to glasgow on about a month in advance and it came to about 180 GBP in total which was cheaper than flying as the train stations are in the hear of the city.
Edingurgh and glasgow have regular busses running between them (about 90 min ride) and cost about 5GBP

take care n safe travel
