Travel Forums Asia 2 months in Asia...

I am going to be visiting Asia in July but as I only have 2 months I am going to be restricted to where I can travel to.

I was thinking of starting in Turkey and then making my way through to Iran and then Uzbekistan. Uzbekisatn is not a place that I have really heard much about but doing some reading recently I found that there are some real historical sites there, which I Would not mind seeing.

From here I was thinking of going to China and spending a 2/3 weeks here and then visiting maybe Thiland and Malaysia.

How does this sound? Am I crazy to try and fit all this in the time period I have or is it doable? Any help would be much appreciated. :)

I Am lost and dont know where to start from...

Sounds to me like waaaaayyyyyyyy too much. I've never really been to the region (except for a brief time in Turkey) but I can't imagine that you can do just the overland through Turkey, Iran, and Uzbekistan in less than 2 months. Though you can do a quick highlights tour of China (I have been to this region) in 2/3 weeks, you certainly can't fit Thailand and Malaysia in there too. You will need another month to briefly visit those two counties. Of course you can just spend 2 or 3 days in Bangkok, and KL, and call that a visit of the country, but it would be missing all of the actual highlights.

So basically it comes down to choosing one region or the other. You can spend a month in China, then head to Bangkok where you can spend a month going overland to KL.
or you can spend two months in Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan. Sorry, I can't give and itinerary suggestions for this region.
But I really don't think you can do both.

Appreciate that Dave...

I had a feeling it was going to be too much. I think I will have to chop a couple of the countries off and save them for another day...

Oh well, it should still be a great adventure! China alone is sooo vast, you could probably spend a whole year or so exploring it...

I am still open to suggestions though...
