AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, March 31, 2007 - announced today that starting on the first of the coming month, a change of ownership of the website will be effected. Stepping down after many years of successful growth will be the Daams brothers, to be replaced with a new CEO with visionary ideas for explosive growth for the website. The spokesperson for the new CEO, reportedly already known on the travellerspoint website by the username of "Sander", gave us the following statement:
"Although the travellerspoint website is, at the moment, going through a period of unparalleled growth, our new CEO believes an opportunity has arisen in the marketplace that can propel travellerspoint straight into the number one position of a hitherto unexplored market segment, namely that of travel-dating. For this purpose, the website will be retooled to become the premier travel-dating website in the world. Much of the current functionality on the website can be used most effectively within the new concept. Photo upload is of course essential to allow potential matches to see and judge each other's attractiveness, "travel blogs" will be renamed to "date blogs", to allow our members to report on the success of various dates, while the recent trip mapping feature will allow for a radical new concept, whereby speed-dating will be merged with a RTW ticket to allow our members to date potential matches straight around the world in a very short timespan."

To boost the initial membership of the restyled website, a large marketing campaign will be rolled out, primarily in India, targeting men aged 35-50 to inform them of the large amount of single travelling females from around the world which can be found at this new dating website. Members of the website speculate that the influx of such, which could be seen on their message board in recent months, was due to a leak at the advertising agency in New Delhi, but ensure us that where before these members were treated with scorn, under the new concept they would be welcomed with open arms.
Further measures to ensure the success of the new dating concept will be to end the membership of all those people who have not designated in their profiles that they are "single", thereby ensuring that matches will be more swiftly made. This measure will start taking effect at 00:00 GMT on April 2, thus allowing sufficient time for those non-single members interested in maintaining their presence on the website to dump their current partner and change their status to "single".

When asked what the plans for the future of travellerspoint held, CEO Sander answered thusly, "Total world domination! MUAHAHAHAHAAAHAAA!"

I for one welcome our new evil CEO.

Wow! I think we've just found the first member to become inactivated at the strike of midnight.... Poor Wouter... We knew him well...

What are you going to do today, Brain?
Same thing we do every day, Pinky. Try to take over the world!!! (With Sander's help, of course.)

Does this mean we'll actually get to have our designations changed to Janitors???

In a stunning turnabout just moments ago, agents of the Daams Royal Brigade have stormed the secret castle lair of one of their formerly trusted "inner circle", one "Sander", who had attempted to overthrow the Dynasty using only his wit. The assault, carried out just before dawn Melbourne time, consisted of 300 heavily armed Soloman Islanders and 4 cocker spaniels. The troops, screaming war chants, descended on the small flat where the initial rebellion began just a few short hours earlier. After knocking politely on the door, the 300 stormed into the secret flat lair and disarmed the perplexed Sander with short quips and humorous anecdotes. The cocker spaniels applied the final blow to the attempted coup by pooping in the corner of the living room. Forty-five robots of undetermined gender were also taken into custody.

Reached by satellite phone, Peter Daams, one of a growing multitude of owners, made the following statement: "Huh? What? Do you have any bloody idea what time it is? Piss right off now!!" Attempts were made to reach Samuel Daams, but his answering service said he was changing diapers, and "just ready to put the little one to bed".

Official announcements are expected to made later this week by Eric Daams, just as soon as someone unlocks the door to the Dungeon.

I would feel sick and vomit on my computer if all of this (from robot Sander) was true. Then I will inactivate myself and never come back again....
