Arriving Bangkok late night on April 3 and leaving evening of April 7th. Any recommendations for day trips for beach/snorkel activities, Elephant rides, etc. ?

I would recommend a trip to Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai. If you can spare the time in BKK, I would actually spend the night out there. There are all sorts of cheap and nice places along the river. There is so much to see and do out there and it is so peaceful and relaxing.

Ayutthaya is another option just north of BKK.

As far as beaches goes, the easiest to get to if you have limited time is Pattaya. It is a fun place but you would really be missing out on the Thai experience. As well, the beaches in Pattaya do not compare to images you may have seen from the south.

You can catch buses to all of these places and travel there on your own, but you can also book tours. Whenyou arrive at the airport (even in the middle of the night) there will be someone there to sell you tours. If you manage to get by them you can visit the Tourist Office on a side side right outside the main Train Station. With them you know you are not getting scammed.

Also beware when you arrive at the airport to go straight to the taxi stand for your rideinto the city. Private shuttles will try to get you first at a much higher price. The taxi stand is right outside the doors.

Have a great time.

Hello Shannara

I also suggest a trip, to Kanchanaburi.
But for the day(s) u are in Bangkok, u can ride up and down the river on the passenger boat.
