reneesc has indicated that this thread is about Philippines

Tagaytay and shopping malls within Metro Manila are the usual stops for relatives coming home from abroad. Any other places I can take them to that are not over 3 hours away from Manila?

3 Hours From Manila - South is usually the best option with the following:

: Tagaytay
- Antonios or Sonya's for culinary experience and relaxation
- Tagaytay Highlands if you have friends who are members

: Tagaytay - Talisay
- more adventurous but is considered an experience because you take the steep roads going down from the main highway... then you take a boat trip to the Taal Island... hike using horses (extra pay) but then you wont be that tired.

: Batangas - Taal / Lemery
- more of a historic trip as you go around the churches and experience a regular Filipino coastal village. You can remind them of what life really is in the Philippines.

: Batangas - Tagaytay - Nasugbu
- Caleruega and the Batulao Peaks are picture perfect for memories
- If they play golf then the hotel here... I think Banyan or Evercrest is the place.

: Batangas - Nasugbu
- Beach, Island Hopping

: Batangas - Anilao (Mabini)
- Best for snorkelling and island hopping (Maricaban Islands)
- Stay in either Isla Verde or Eagle Point (love this resort)

: Laguna - any town bordering quezon
- Best for food trip but you need someone from that place to take you around, else it wont be too interesting
- You can take Villa Escudero by default but there is a lot in Laguna for those who like adventure.
- Paete for woodwors and artisan village with an old church
- Majayjay for Imelda Falls,Lanzones and also that old church
- Pakil, Fami and all the other Sinoloan Falls
- In fact, you can make laguna exciting by visiting all the old churches and discovering history.

: Cavite - a bit metro already but has a lotof historical landmarks
- Pres Aguinaldo house - architecture and a good sampleof old rich house (great kamagong floors, furniture) my mom used to deliver pandesal to this house :)
- tejeron (1st constitution)
- malabon area for oldhouses, small streets, showing fishing village

3 Hours From Manila - North (I have not explored it as much as I want to)

:Clark
- can be fun if the whole family enjoys golf and shopping

:Subic
- well, longer than 3 hours but has been developed as a tourist area with activities such as enjoying the zoo, dolphin shows, eco-toursim challenges and trips, beaches

:Pampanga - Sta Rita (Mt.Pinatubo)
- showthem what happened by pointing out the homes that were buried, churches, dikes and if they want to they can hire a guide for a pinatubo adventure itself.
- Food is great as well... take them to the original razon's

:Bulacan - heritage and historical tour
- going aroudn bulacan is great when there is a festival.
- examples of rice fields
- Malolos Church

Go for a trip to Pagudpud.
While getting there, pass thru Manaoag Church in Pangasinan
and go to Baguio. Stay for at least 2 days there and enjoy
the sites and the ukay-ukays! Then, go to Pagudpud Beach, stay for again, at least 2 days there. Before going home, pass thru Vigan and
visit the Paoay Church and some historical sites there.

Down south, you can go to the beach too either in San Juan Batangas and some beaches in Quezon.
