My biggest losses (apart from having my camera stolen on a bus in Chile) have been from walking off without all my change. Try and wrap your head around the local currency, make sure you count your change, and remember that most people will go out of their way to make sure you DON´T walk off without the correct change, but if they don´t then more fool you! This goes especially when drinking. Don´t do what a guy I met did when drunk, which was got some guy to take a photo of him in a bar, said ¨Cheers mate¨ and walked away without his camera. If you´re going to carry a shoulder bag, get one with zips and a flap over the top, that way you will hopefully know when someone is messing with it, and reduces the risk of you walking around with your bag open like I sometimes do (should I be allowed to travel?) Anyway, even if you are haemorrhaging money through a hole in your head like some of us, you will have a blast!
