Hi everyone, I need a bit of help!
Im arriving into Amsterdam on the 18th of August 2007, and staying the night there before heading down to Maastricht the next day.
I need help with getting a ride to my hostel from the airport and also finding a good hostel. Any tips, advice would be appreciated.
Also, how much can i expect to pay for a train ticket to Maastricht from Amsterdam?
Are you willing to walk to your hostel from a point in the center of Amsterdam or are you looking to be dropped off right at the door step? You can always take a train to the center, stop by the tourist office to get a map and proceed to your hostel accordingly.
Currently, for a 2nd class return ticket from Amsterdam to Maastricht it costs €38 (€27 for a single).
Thanks for that, I just need a one way. Yeah I could walk or taxi to my hostel. How much would a train cost from the airport to the center? Thanks, Luke
The train ride from Schiphol to the Central Station costs €4.30 if I remember correctly. It should not cost more than €5 anyway.
Enjoy your trip Luke!
Thanks alot, thats not expensive at all. Thanks i will do, I'm really looking forward to it!
By the way, where abouts can I find a good hostel? www.hostelworld.com seems the best to me, are there any other better sites that people know about? Also, does the YHA card work in all hostels or just YHA affiliated ones? Thanks, Luke
You can check out Durty Nelly's (http://www.xs4all.nl/~nellys/) which is located at Warmoesstraat. It's central and within walking distance to the Central Station. I paid only € 15 for a dorm bed, including breakfast
Get a hostel, in or near the old town. Then u can get the train, from the airport, to the old town. It stops right in the old town, so u wont need a ride, to the hostel.
Book a hostel bed, on the internet, before arriving in Amsterdam.
Google hostels,Amsterdam and u should get a selection of hostels, with maps, so u can see if they are near the train station.
I dont know how much it costs to get from Amsterdam, to Maastrict.
