There's actually a number of airports in NY: JFK, La Guadia and Newark (which is technically in NJ). You can get more info on each of them here

I am so shocked that no one has mentioned Atlanta International airport yet. That place has the WROST smell and worst staff ever. I have been to many airports in USA and few in other countries. But i have never seen so rude staff any place on earth. Employees in that airport live in their la la land. Don’t even dare to ask them any questions. Because them showing up to work is good enough. When I was there last time, I was waiting got my luggage and this couple with two small children (i think they were from south America) , they could not speak english. They had lost some bag or something and they were trying to ask the staff where to look for lost luggage. There were this three women employees. The couple asked them. While Men was trying his best to talk in English…all three women kept talking to themselves. Then one woman asked him to speak louder, clear etc.

Anyway..its not the first time i had seen something like that in Atlanta Airport. And that place stink too (not as bad as NYC subway though ;) )

Best airport...I would say Zurich, Switzerland. People were very nice. Place was clean as well.

Best airport: I dont really have a favourite although I must confess I do like London Stansted as its so spacious.

Worst: Sharm El Sheikh - absolutely no seating, it felt like a cattle market, mum had to stand for an hour before someone actually noticed that she had a limp and she was in agony!

I have to say agree about the post earlier on about Cuba, I think both times I have had the pleasure of cuban airports I have stood out in 95 degrees of heat for up to one and half hours before seeing anyone at immigration or even entering customs. Check in isnt much better I have to say!

I agree with Cuba - worst airports I've ever been to, although it's just kind of expected that they'll be grubby and gross. The first airport looked abandoned if you saw it from the street, and the second one looked like it'd seen its heyday back in the 60s.There was even a guy alseep on the grill (which I presumed was off) at the airport restaurant.

Best? I would say probably Dublin or Venice (small but nice and easy)

the worst probably Amsterdam (its so HUGE) or the shitty ryanair airports all over the place and aren't that close to the actual cities

..worst,in this order...

..Paris CDG, no heating at night, nowhere to sleep, no carpets, nothing to eat at night, no smoking-area, bloody awful grey-concrete decor ...better to jump from the plane than spend the night there..

..Manila Nino Aquoy International..it's just a dirty mess, everything bad you can imagine about the Philipines..

..Best...

..Singapore...do your absolute best to get stuck there, it's a cross between a 5-star hotel and an expensive holiday resort, it's got evrything, free heated showers, thickly carpeted rest areas, bars, etc etc..

..Davao International.. it's everything Manila isn't..modern, clean, with bars, food, quiet, and staffed by polite and courteous Philippinos and beautiful Philippinas..yeah, i'm biased here, cos it also says "i'm home " in large letters on the runway..

Definitely Singapore. I wanted to kiss and roll around the carpeted ground when I landed.

Can't say I like any airport but the best has to be Singapore.
Don't have a worst because I hate them all equally.
Worst experience was Copenhagen airport because my plane was held up for 13 hours!!

Worst would be the one in Easter Island. On a rainy day the interior of the airport was flooded and the airport shop before you check in was also flooded with a lot of stock damage. On entry it only has one baggage belt it is that small, the seats are rather uncomfortable, you couldn't stay there overnight even if you were dumb enough to want to. The only positive about the airport is that after getting off your flight you have a nice welcome from the residents who flock to the airport like it's a royal visit to welcome everyone.

The airport in Keflavik/Iceland is also a pretty bad one, but not as bad as the one on Easter Island.

Honolulu International Airport is also a pretty crappy one especially if you need to camp there overnight.

One with the worst staff is definitely LAX Los Angeles closely followed by Toronto and Vancouver, but most big American and Canadian airports have a large amount of arseholes who are the security people, customs/immigration people from hell to most young foreigners.

Best is a hard one but probably Singapore.
