I am staying in Tanzania for sometime, and have 1 month in which to make it to Cairo when I am finished in Dar Es Salaam.
I would like to travel from Tanzania - Kenya - Ethiopia - Sudan - Egypt. Is 4 weeks enough time to do this? I expect to be on the road most of the time, but wanted to go down the nile for a bit once in Egypt.
Any help. or tips would be appreciated. thanks.
It is very very difficult for a Western person to find information on how to get from Kenya to Sudan safely.
There are travel warnings for the area and from time to time you hear that the crossing of the borders is "impossible".
I've been looking into getting overland to Kenya from Egypt myself and so far I have no clue how I would safely travel southwards from Khartum.
I am also quite sure that 1 month is pushing things. If you want to go down the nile and see the sights along the way, you'll need about 10-14 days for Egypt alone. And Kenya and Ethopia are such interesting countries that they deserve spending a bit more time too.
well, I have done some more research.
Although I know that I am missing a lot by not taking my time, I unfortunately have a limited time frame, and budget.
Crossing into sudan from ethiopia is the route I will be going. The border with kenya is closed/too dangerous.
As I have planned things out, I should be ok, but we'll have to see
