duranleau has indicated that this thread is about France

I'm heading to Europe this summer and am looking into renting a place for a couple weeks in the South of France. Any advice on how to research apartments or where to stay? I'm open to any of the cities on the sea.

I think you need to tell us a bit more.

South France is a large diverse area stretching from Italy to Spain.

Which part are you interested in ?

I'm not really sure which part I'm interested in...I don't know much about the region at all. Just somewhere beautiful, on the beach, near vineyards. I'm single, in my mid-20s but am not really looking for a huge party scene. Somewhere to relax and recharge. Any tips?

south of France is not the place where you'll find peace... especially during the summer. But if you still feel like it, i'll suggest you to find a go in corsica..

Hi There,

There's a place called"Cassis"...Oh,God,it's such an amazing place, the views are incredible, fabulous, great food....It's got a bit of party scene but you can sure steer clear of it,i mean that's what i did...

It's a 15mns train from Marseilles...(Bouches-Du-Rhones region)...

well, the lowdown is :

East - Cote d'Azur is busy, expensive, beautiful and close to Italy
Centre - Marseille is vibrant with great places to visit (Calanques, Frioul, etc.)
Camarge - beautiful, cheap, and mostly empty
Languedoc - cheap, lots of history and quiet sandy beaches but quietish
West - Rousillon has rocky beaches, is more holiday active, and near Spain

Time to do more research ?
