My friend's heading to New York to attend a one-month dance course sometime in June/July. He's not too familiar with the city (or continent for that matter), and is desperately seeking really cheap accomodation during his month-long stay there.
Even better if it's free, in exchange for some work thrown in.
thats pretty much your best bet to finding accomodations in nyc or many cities in the us. if theyre looking for something in particular, they should also try posting on there.. beware of creeps though. good luck!
cheap or free in the city though.. not likely in manhattan. if outside of manhattan though, be careful of which neighborhood you pick
which are the neighbourhoods that should be avoided?
heh.. well, thats hard to say so easily. manhattan *generally* is best.. even harlem isnt so bad anymore. bronx can be pretty tough as well as queens but if youre street smart then you should be fine
