So I'm going on my first trip outside of canada on July 17th. I'm going for Halifax, Nova Scotia and ending up in Stuttgart, Germany. My first stop is in heathrow airport, but I have to go to london international. Whats the best way to travel from one to the other, the travel agency told me I should get a shuttle, but how do I go about getting one or finding one, do I need to book it? Also will I need to pick up my luggage or will it be brought to london international from heathrow in london. I'm really excited about this trip, so I just want to make sure I make it there all right, I'm only 19, so I think its good to start travelling early.
There isn't an airport called 'London International'. The 'London' airports are: Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, City.
Who are you flying with?
When you say London International, rather than an airport are you referring to the Eurostar (train) terminal - London Waterloo International?
I copied and pasted this from my email that travelation.com sent me. So maybe some one will know what airport that is :P. I just went and check and I guess its "London City Airport"
Flight 860 Halifax Intl, Halifax(YHZ)
Heathrow, London England(LHR) 10:45 PM - 07/17/07
08:35 AM - 07/18/07

Flight 3455 London City Apt, London England(LCY)
Echterdingen, Stuttgart(STR) 02:35 PM - 07/18/07

I didn't know there was a London City Airport, but here you can find all the informations about LCA http://www.londoncityairport.com/index.php?page=lcyToGatwickStansteadHeathrow
About what I read the shuttle doesn't exist anymore for LCA, since the DLR line exist.
So you can take the tube to go there or the express, but I found the express too expensive
But I saw you can take your time to reach LCA, so maybe you can take the tube, it's up to you...
You will need to take your lugagge with you , as Air Canada does not operate from LCY. London city is a very small airport, so you wont need to get there a lot of time in advance.
It is straight forward route, and I reccomend you take the tube, as you have plenty of time and it is a lot cheaper! (and also you can say you have experienced the delight of travelling the london underground on a summer day and survive the heat!)
Take the Picadilly Line to Holborn, change there to the Central Line to Bank Station and there change to the DLR service to London city Airport. There are plenty of other options, check it for yourself
Or just have a look at the Transport for london website, for all the info you need
If you need anything else, just ask!
Hope you enjoy the trip

Thanks for everyone's responses. I think I might take the train or subway or I guess the "tube" :P. as you call it. I'm just worried about getting lost, I'd probably get lost trying to find the right train or place I need to get off at :P.
dont worry, if there is something that is really good in London, is the public transport service!
Trust me, it is difficult to get lost in the "tube" (as we call it ) and even if you did, you have plenty of time to find the way again (you even have time to do it by red bus! )
If you need more specific help, let me know, ok?

WOWWWWWWWW Your travel agent saw you coming, thats a horrible connection to do from LHR to LCY. I would ask them to change it, there are flights with BA and LH from LHR and you woudl not even have to collect your bags if you did a LH flight as they are part of the Star Alliance as is AirCanada.
If you cannt then enjoy the ride!
I could make a change, unfortunately it could cost an extra $100- 400 to do changes, so its probably safer to just try to find my way. Is it possible to take a taxi to the other airport? How much would it cost?.
