Hey Guys
Hedaing to Oz via thailand in June.
Was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get insurance for the trip?
Going for a year and want a fairly decent cover as were wanting to do lots of things.
Ive looked on STA and its coming up around the £200/300 mark please tell me its cheaper out there!!

Cheers
Charlotte

Hi Charlotte,

I just booked my travel insurance yesterday with ACE-
http://www.acetravelinsurance.com

I have spent the past week trawling through websites & getting different quotes, this was almost the cheapest & by far the best coverage! Choose the standard (rather than budget) so that you're covered for luggage loss & personal money.

Mine came out at £178- 12months cover for worldwide excluding USA/Canada.

I leave for Oz via Singapore on 30th April with two friends... so excited

Are you doing the backpacking thing or working?

Katie xxxx

Hi Charlotte,

I booked with insure and go http://www.insureandgo.com/ and if i remember rightly they were around £120 for 12 months worldwide. I never had to make a claim, but my friend did when he lost his camera and he said they were fine. hope this helps - they did seem to be the cheapest when i shopped around.

Katie, were doing the whole 1 year backpacking holiday working visa thing...basically we want to travel but are going to have to work somewhere along the line to pay for it!

oh wow, only 8 weeks to go. have you just about sorted everything?
have you got your route planned or just gonna go with the flow?
I leave on 30th April (melbourne via singapore)- going to live & work in Oz for roughly a year then will travel back through asia once i'm ready to come home.
My head's spinning though cos only a few weeks left & still so much to do.
