went through lots of research, noticed that there are various spots to do skydiving with difference charges. for example, below are the prices quoted if u jump down 15000ft from the sky at the following drop zones:
Waikato : $290
Taopo : $314
Queenstown : $395
it's worth to pay premium to do skydiving in queenstown? can i expect to get more scenic views in return when i fall down from the plane? or the premium is paid just because queenstowns merely a popular tourist spot?
I don't know what Waikato is like for scenery but Taupo is a great place to do the skydive. I thought the scenery was great. But, to be honest, I daresay you will be do busy screaming to enjoy the scenery! Its awesome!
I think the extra price in Queenstown is possibly partly due to it being a popular tourist spot, but I think also in places like Taupo it is cheap because there are a few different companies competing.
The prices are all low in NZ when you compare them to UK rates. I jumped with Skydive the Sounds (I did the Wellington to Picton jump which was a mind blower but at $545 was at the top end of the NZ price bracket howevere the service was top notch and the views wicked). To me if you buy cheap you get cheap.
Ive had mates who went to Taupo and commented on the low quality of customer care..
Thats my two bobs worth
