Well I'm glad you guys let me know about delays because I had no idea. There really isn't anything I can do at this point but change my booking for the bus to Stansted to 20 minutes later. That gives me only 1 hour to get from my apparently estimated landing at the airport to claim my baggage, go through customs, and get from Terminal 4 to Terminal 2 for the bus. Ouch! I'm landing on a Thurdsay. I hope that's a good day to travel.
The worst case scenario is that I won't get in Stansted in time for my flight and I'll have to purchase another flight which is only about $160. I guess my biggest problem will be missing half a day of my trip. Let's just hope it goes smoothly.
Does anyone know if I'll have to declare my laptop? Isn't that a standard travel item these days?
You're going between T4 and T2? You really do need to allow more time.
Terminals 1, 2 & 3 are located in the same rough area (with the bus station in the middle of them), T4 is completely separate. You'll have to get the train (Heathrow Express) between T4 and the other terminals (it's free within Heathrow, operates every 15 minutes I think). This link is to a map of Heathrow on their website, it's not that clear but you'll need to take the train across to the other terminals (there's a bit of a runway between 4 and the other 3 )
Now this could save you a little bit of time, most buses drop by T4 too. Check the schedule! I have seen many go there......... National Express call in on the way!
You are right. I just checked my bus ticket and it says it goes from Terminal 4.
I was talking to a friend lastnight who said that because British Airways operates Heathrow, that their planes get priority on landing. Does anyone else know from experience if this is true?
British Airways does not operate Heathrow airport. BAA (British Airports Authority) operates Heathrow.
