Congrats Sam on your engagement.. Hope you don't mind me breaking the news
here! Looks like we might have a good excuse to go visit Norway one day
as well now ;)

Hehe, thanks Pete!

Yes folks, it is true.... since the 2nd of July I am now officially engaged. It was great, in Paris on the Champs Elysees in the sun on my knees (for any of you interested ).

Destination for the big day (sometime the end of January next year) will be somewhere on an island I think.... with folks in Australia, the Netherlands and Norway, something in the middle seems most logical; Hawaii maybe? Any other suggestions are very welcome though of course!

Pete, you are always welcome in Norway....actually, as soon as we have a bigger place, any of you folks are welcome :)

I like the Hawaii option.. will start saving up as soon as I pay off the debts from the last trip ;)

Congrats, sounds like a very romantic proposal, Paris, sunshine and even down on your knees, wouuuuwww. So you'll actually be living in Norway then??

Cheers Sole

Hi Sole,

Up late too I see! Yes, actually I am busy now packing as I fly tomorrow morning at 8 am up to Oslo; I always leave packing to the very last night and usually don't sleep before leaving - a weird tick I have which drives some people nuts! This is basically the final move....yes, although I still will be back to the Netherlands every now and then...

Know of any jobs going in Norway? :)

Ha det,

Yes, up very late last night, came home from Lithuania at about 19:30, did a bit of shopping and some washing for my sister and her kids who live in the North of Denmark (Jylland). They've just gone back now, my son went with them so even if I'm working again tomorrow it'll be great not having to care about food for a kid for the next week or so

Sorry, don't really know of any jobs in Norway. I used to know quite a few Norwegians when I was studying back in the eighties, but that's a very long time ago and I haven't kept in touch. Guess you'll be able to find something, with your skills I suppose you can work from anywhere, doesn't really matter where you live??

Know what you mean about the packing, I always leave packing to the very last myself. My boyfriend and I were in England last week. I got annoyed with him the day before we should leave and decided not to go with him (to visit his mother!!!!!! - hadn't really wanted to in the first place ;)) Well, over the night I reconsidered so not to make the situation too embarassing for him I changed my mind. When he had a shower Friday morning I packed all my stuff and the only thing I forgot was my camera, so when you get used to packing it doesn't take a long time

Will you be living in Oslo? Or was it Bergen??

Have a nice trip, are you actually moving up there right now or are you leaving it till later in the year?

Ha' det godt (now you'll have to learn all the Scandinavian languages, will make life a lot easier for you ).

Hah! Finally! So... and oh yeah.. sorry Sam, I was late.. just managed to get things sorted and now back online.. So ... Best wishes to the happy couple and a greater year I hope ;)

So how was it? did Peter do the Russian Hat dance? or something better?

Fill me in -- where's the photos?

Hey AainaalyaA,

Great to see you around here again! Run into you all over the place huh :)

The wedding hasn't taken place yet, June 26th is now the big day. It will be held in Norway, in a tiny village which claims to be the 'cradle of skiing' as it is the home of the guy who invented the first slalom bindings....just some trivia there :)

I will be sure to get some pics or something like that up after the wedding/honeymoon for anyone interested.... maybe Pete will do that Russian hat dance!

So it is YOU after all... Sam... I knew it!! anyways, my felicitations go to the both of you. How was Paris.. and where are those photos? or did you somehow forget your cam, this time round ;)

Yeah, that'll be cool for the wedding.. so will you be having loads of Salmon and Whelks? Fill us in about the wedding k?

All the best, and yes, do get Peter to do the Russian Hat Dance, and snap a photo of him doing it, or better still, get it on digicam, and stream it here :)

Hey, what's this talk of a Russian Hat dance ?? Me doing any hat dance would not be a pretty sight, particularly because I don't have a hat!
