I finally booked my flight yesterday to Bangkok .
I fly out on the 6th May , so am absolutely crapping myself but very excited. Am flying to Dubai first from Manchester , has anyone flew this route before it seems like a nightmare 16 hours altogether .
I was wandering about Dubai airport is it easy to get through ie does everyone speak English and is it easy enough to navigate?

Well, I believe that the customs officers do speak English, so not to worry about having communication problem there ;)

Enjoy your holiday in Bangkok!

I've never been to the Dubai airport, but I've been to many international airports in many foreign countries, and they are all the same. In any airport in the world, English is the standard second language. So chances are, ever sign and announcement will be in both Arabic and English. As well, any staff that works with the public will almost surely speak perfect English. Besides, Dubai (both the city and airport) is a very major hub for international business and travel, so they are well prepared for foreign visitors.
So don't worry, you'll be fine. Do a google search for Dubai Airport and you'll find they have a great website with some pictures (where you'll notice every sign is in English first) which might put you at ease.

Flew through Dubai airport on way to Athens back in 2003 and it is one of the newest and best airports in the world.
My wife was a bit dark when I walked into the airport's Irish Pub and ordered a pint of cider at 6.15 a.m.!!!
Looked as though very few locals actually work at the airport, mostly english-speaking expats in the duty-free shops and in the pub.
No worries.

Hi Paul,

I went to Dubai a couple of years ago and it really is one of the best airports in the world, very clean and everyone very helpful.

You'll be fine, happy travels
