Best way to get from Santorini to Istanbul

Travel Forums Europe Best way to get from Santorini to Istanbul

Hi
I am trying to work out how to go from Santorini to Istanbul cheaply. So far, its been quite difficult to get info on the internet.
I cant seem to find any flights that go from Santorini to Istanbul, so it looks like ferries and a Turkish flight are the way to go.

It seems I could possibly go to Rhodes, then across to Marmaris (and bus up to Bodrum to fly to Istanbul), or ferry from Santorini to Mykonos/Syros, then ferry to Kos, then to Bodrum - this sounds like a long trip!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks

heY!

I've just google earth Santorini and it looks like just in south of Los Angles... Don't you have any cheap flight from there to Istanbul?

Check Turkish Airlines (THY) it's pretty good! then Lufthansa, Air France, KLM with transfer in Europe.

If you've found some to the Greek Islands, I don't know the ferries but you can find a lot of buses to istanbul from ALL holiday places. Both from Kos (it's Kaş in Turkish) and Marmaris. Enjoy during the day and come during the night. Nearly all buses in Turkey are so comfortoble with unlimited soft drink and snack service, air condition, hostesses, TV etc. and most of them has free city services from main bus stop to the major points of the city.

This is Kos, the islands you'll see are Greek's. It's really close!

And this is the centre of Marmaris. I suggest you to see Kelebekler Vadisi or Ölüdeniz or both if you use Marmaris and have one or two days!!

You can see Aegean Region and Meditarean Region on these maps.

Further questions are welcome ;)
