Hi, im leaving for india in 9 weeks time, i was wondering the best way and cheapest place to get my indian visa, i will be spending a month here.

I will then be flying over to thailand where i plan to spend a few days in thailand, before spending a month travelling through cambodia, vietnam and laos, then back to thailand for 1 month, then malaysia for a further month.

Again does anyone know the cheapest place to get visas for these countries.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Ash

When I went to get my visa for India I went to the Indian consulate in Birmingham, where they issue it on the same day.

Alternatively you could go to the HC in London.... There may be other places, like travel agents who ar eable to do this, but I a unsure, sorry...

You will get your visa free of charge upon arrival to Thailand, which will be valid for 30 days.

You will get your cambodian visa at the border for US20$, which will be valid for 30 days.

The cheapest place to get your vietnam visa is in Cambodia. The embassy charges about US60$ (I think), but you can get it cheaper at a guesthouse and they sort it out for you. I recommend 'Royal guesthouse'. I think the regular one is valid for a month.

You will also get your Laos visa at the border for US30$, which will be valid ofr 15 days. If you get it from the embassy you can get an extended one, but will cost more.

You will then get your second visa for Thailand upon arrival, again free of charge, lasting 30 days. After this you will only be eligable for another 30 days.

Mancunian how much did u pay? iv been quoted £60, dont no if thats expensive or not.

the_wynner you say im only valid for a further 30 days, is that after my 30 days on my second visit into thailand (after laos), if so how do u gain that extra 30 days?

because you're visiting thailand for a few days to begin with, that will 'use up' your free 30 day visa, and i dont think you get it renewed by crossing the border and then getting another 30 days given to you, apparently the rules have changed so you only get one free visa in a month period.... checked out the consulate website man, it should be a little clearer.... if a little word heavy
