Travel Forums Europe Enough time between flights in Athens?

chopinplay has indicated that this thread is about Greece

Just worried about our time in between flights. We are arriving from Venice on Alitalia at 17:05 on a Sunday & have a flight out scheduled for 19:00 to Santorini on Aegean. Anyone know if Alitalia is usually good for being on time? I know...stupid question. Every airline has delays right?
I'm hoping that if Alitalia is on time from Venice than we should be good. Actually- it is coming from Rome as that is our connection from Venice.

HELLO THERE
THE TIME IS OK ....... BUT I SUGGESTYOU WILL BETTER TAKE A SMALL LUGGEGE THAT YOU CAN CARRY ON THE CUBIN OF THE PLANE BECAUSE OFHEN ALITALIA HAS DELAY! THEN YOU NOT NEED TO WAIT YOUR LUGGEGE BECAUSE ALSO THAT SOMETIMES DELAY IN ATHENS AIRPORT
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS IN GREECE!!!!
KONSTANTINOS!

If i were you ... i would be in much trouble ! My former experience - especially travelling from Rome - showed me that you cannot trust such time distances among flights. Alitalia is not the most trustworthy company on this planet .. and sometimes you can loose luggage as well.
Well .. its your choice .. depending your luck !

Enjoy the trip ...

Amalia

Actually I do not have any personal experience with Alitalia, however I have heard some bad comments, especially about delays in the timetables and losses of luggage at connection flights. But of course I guess this can happen to every airline as you said. And anyway, you `ll have problems with time only if your flights suffer really big delays, which I suppose is not so possible. So since you have already booked the tickets, just do not think about it!

Have a nice time at Santorini!

Nick

PS : Have also in mind -unless you already know it- that in Athens International Airport, you `ll take your Aegean flight from the same -the only one- terminal where your Alitalia flight will land, so I mean there are no extra delays on changing terminals or so.

I have actually emailed Aegean Air & they didn't think there would be a problem. It is May so not REALLY busy with tourists yet, maybe that will help.
