Hello everyone,

Getting ourselves as well as the car prepared to drive UK-Ghana is a big mission, but just as important and difficult though has appeared to be taking decisions on vaccinations and malaria meds. We are still doubting about having the rabies vaccination due to its rediculous price of over 150 pounds each and limited effectiviness (it just prolongs the time by 2 days to get yourself to a hospital).
Does anyone have experiences with Rabies, and did West-African travelers mainly have or not have the vaccination???

Cheers Lotty

If you are travelling through Morocco, try getting them here.

The municipality carries out the injections, and it seems to be quick, easy and less expensive than in Europe.

Here in Fes, even the live high risk "I've just been bitten" version is free to residents.

hmm....be careful with hygiene. take notice that the needle is new and still in the package before the vaccine is given (ask them to open the package in front of you).

I think I don't take the rabies, better be careful in traffic. chance is low. and besides. u can always hide in your car if a dog is hunting you down;)
