Travel Forums Europe Where to go?!?! HELPP!

Hi. I'm 16, and this summer I’m pretty sure I’m doing a 6 week summer exchange program. I know I want to go to Europe, but I’m not sure what country to go to. I have to have 3 choices, and these are the countries I have to choose from...

Sweden
Spain
Poland
Denmark
Brazil
Estonia
Finland
Portugal
Slovakia
Norway
Czech Rep
Germany
Italy
Romania

I know my 1st choice is going to be Italy, and I'm not sure about the 2nd or 3rd choice
I was thinking maybe Spain as a 2nd choice, then Poland or Sweden as 3rd

Can someone who has traveled to these countries give me some advice?
I'm a 16 year old girl, and I speak a little Spanish, and a little Italian (very little)
I want somewhere that I would have fun, and would give me a good experience

Thanks a lot!

It depends on what you want to do in Europe and if you have alot of money to spend. All Scandinavian countries will have very good english (Sweden,Denmark,Norway,Finland) but these countries are quite expensive. Cheapest countries are the ones in eastern europe and also Portugal. Italy is a wonderful country but expensive too. Might be an idea to go to Spain and practice the language, it's prob the most useful language to have after english if you like to travel.

It depends on the cities, they are offering. If it's the capitals, then I would go for Spain and Finland.

As far as language is concerned, you'll be amazed how much you can say without speaking the language.

Since it is your parents paying, I would also go to for the western and northern European countries.

You can always do the Eastern European countries on your own when you are a little older, but are short on money.

Also, if your first choice is Italy and your second Spain, it would make sense to choose Portugal as a third option. Portugese is very similar to Spanish - the languages are so close that with a bit of good will the native speakers can understand each other.

BTW, Germany is also a great country. (I know, I live there ;) ) See this site: http://www.germany-tourism.de/

Hi, I live in Sweden (born and raised here), so just ask me anything you want to know, and I'll try to answer you in the best way I can :D

Good luck with your choice!
