hey you guys, how you all doing?-im in the stages of planning a big trip, i want to go to u.s.a canada fiji new zealand australia hong kong?-a rough guide as to where i want to go. im thinking of going jan- feb 2008, im unsure of how much money i will need?-im planning on working where i can (australia-canada) , im a joiner/carpenter by trade so hopefully il get work, but i can turn my hand to anything, so how much roughly should i save for this trip?
With the limited details you give, it'd be impossible to give an accureate estimate you need to be a lot more specific. Depending on where you go in the countries, how long you stay in each country, what you plan on doing in the countries, what type of accommodation you plan on staying in, how you plan on getting about and many more how.........the estimates could vary greatly.
If you plan on staying in hostel accommodation all the time, seeing the main sites but not doing many of the really expensive activities, well a rough estimate would be:
Australia/NZ/US - $50US a day
Canada - $40US a day
fiji unsure of but I reckon $30US could get you by.
Hong Kong $30-35US a day
If you were just planning on standing about doing nothing in places except look for work or hopefully get a job to do work, well the prices in Australia and Canada would be less, because those estimates are adding in for the tourist attractions. If you went to Western Australia and saw some the Kimberley region, then that daily budget would be way to low, because to see places like the Bungle Bungles on a tour it is almost as expensive per day as the per day cost of one of those mega expensive cruises to Antarctica.
thanks for the reply-well i plan on going 3-6 monthes depending on money and work etc..- i plan on working for short periods where i can its going to be a flexible trip as i might meet people and wanna go off with them!- but so i have flights £1500 approx and a daily budget, so £6000 should be enough?
