RTW tickets with South America stopover

Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean RTW tickets with South America stopover

Hi, can anyone tell me which airlines they used and approx how much their tickets were.

I am looking to go to South America late October this year and return April 08. However the flights have gone up in price somewhat to just over 900 pounds sterling - Iberia, Air France, KLM.

That is for Edinburgh (Scotland) - Rio and Lima to Edinburgh.

I am thinking if it is cheaper to get a RTW ticket and stop in say two other countries (even for a week or so) then it may well be worth it.

Any advice welcome.

that is the shop where I just got those extortionate quotes.
Last year (when I originally meant to travel) the same journeys were 200 pounds less.
Exact same time of enquiry and flight times/schedule.

I am going either way though but would like a better deal on the flights.

We are flying from london - BA then Santiago - Sydney...

We paid 726pounds which i found reasonable

That is reasonable.
Best quote I have had is 890 with KLM via the flight centre.
I am waiting on STA Quote.

Seems a lot given the RTW fares you can get which involve 6 or so flights at the same cost!

I guess SA isn't so high on the list of destinations for some of the airlines offering good deals. It's not like this is a month in advance either, it's a full 6 months and about the max in advance I can do.
