Hi everyone,

I'm heading to thailand in Oct for two months and then to the UK. As the climate is just a little bit different i was wondering what to do with my warmer gear for the UK. Would it be safe to send it to thailand (i'd hate to lose my stuff), and if so how would i do it? Is there an alternative like bringing it over and leaving it in a storage place at the airport or....any other ideas? There isn't much, just a jacket, jumper thermals etc, but enough to be a pain to carry around for two months with no use!

thanks for your help,

loz

Hi Loz,

A lot of guesthouses in Bangkok have long term storage (generally a massive pile of backpacks under the stairs ;-) some places charge a token fee like 5B a day, other places its free. Lots of people do it and although not 100% secure (I wouldn't leave the crown jewels there) its generally ok. So you could just leave a small bag there and pick it up before you continue onto the uk.

Hope that helps

I believe that you can leave your stuff at the BK airport - although I'm not sure about long term. The place I stayed on KSR had lockers for left luggage - you provide your own locks - so it's not just thrown in a room somewhere and only you have access to it. I think we paid 30 B a day - check out Tuptim just around the corner from KSR near the police station. I would think that others must have storage lockers, too, considering all the shopping going on at Kao San.
