Quoting dajaga

well i am planing on going to japan i would like to do a month of traveling then go to nagano or another nice place with good mountains and work on the ski hill and ski all winter, so should i get a working holiday visa and apply to ski hills in early november. any help would be nice. i would be willing to stay in the resort all season long.

Japan can be very expensive, so be warned. If you're into skiing, Hokkaido is quite popular with skiiers and winter vacationers. Club Med runs a winter ski resort in Sahoro, my friend used to work there as a ski instructor. The pay isn't much, though, but if you like that sort of thing, you might want to check it out.

I would say Asia also.

I stayed in SE asia for 2 months on £850, and quite easily made it last. You could easily stay in europe for say 2 months on £2500 (about £40 a day I think), and then go to Asia for a long, long time.

What do you want most, something more like home, or to experience a totally different culture?

Hi!

It depends on what you would like to live. As you said Europe looks like Canada in mentality and in everyday life. So, it will be a nice,'safe' travel that you can really enjoy, as there are really nice countries but you will not live anything special. In Asia you will see different culture and people. In both continents there is a lot you can see and do, depending on what you really want.
