hey my name is yoel and i am a uruguayan who is going on a working/holiday visa to nz in august with a mate.. some people told me i might find work in queenstown and that there are also some good parties there... i have no idea about accomodation or work there, so any help or advise will be really useful.
Queenstown is a great place to live and work for a while, although it can be expensive so have a bit of cash on hand in case it takes a while to find a job. Pinewood Lodge is a cool backpackers that I've stayed at in Qtown, it's set about 5 mins walk behind the town centre, great place and great loaction cos you can actually get some sleep at night! There's a few agencies that will help you find work, especially in hospitality or fruit/vineyard work if you're there in summer. You'll love it anyway
I would suggest to stay in Wanaka. It´s like the little sister of Queenstown, but much cheaper. And only one hour driving from Queenstown. When I was there the last time, there lived some 6000 people in town, twice that much in winter for the skiing season and in the summer holidays. There are some lovely backpackers and camping grounds and the surrounding area is at least as beautiful as from Queenstown.
If youl like to get more information, just send me a text, I will be glad to help you
ah, and what i forgot to say: there are plenty of jobs the whole year!
