It’s my first time travelling to USA and I have 6 Days in LA can anyone recommend how best to spend these days. A must see is Disneyland as I have been wanting to go since forever and we have nothing like that in little old NZ, is it worthwhile taking a trip to Vegas or Mexico or do I not have enough time. I would great appreciate any advice.
i have about 6 days in LA also in december this year
im doing an additional trip to vegas for about 3 days.
in LA we plan to.......
go to disneyland!
knotts berry farm!
(so there is 3 days with theme parks)
hollywood tour of some sort
day trip to san diego and down to mexico
and not sure about the other day!
i know what you mean about not having anything like disneyland
im from adelaide in australia! we have nothing!!
Disneyland is great, but a lot smaller than the Florida Disneyworld, so you will easily do it in a day at that time of year.
Unless you are a film nut, then Hollywood is a waste of time. There's little or nothing to see except the stars on the pavement and Mann's Chinese theatre.
Malibu beach isn't too far and the weather should be OK - we went in February and have some beautiful memories of watching the dolphins playing just fifty or so metres out to sea.
Vegas is great, although it's a fair way away. Go if you can, but work out the amount of time it will take you to get there. I didn't think it would be my kind of place, but if you take it for what it is - a bit of fun - then you'll have a ball.
Mexico would no doubt be great too, but you'd not have time to do that as well as Vegas.
Thanks for the great advice!! What sort of theme park is Knotts Berry farm?
I am a local. Definitely check out Venice Beach, 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. Universal Studios is very fun. Knott's is kind of a waste after Disney and Universal. Take note, evenings are cool when you are close to the beach, inland does stay warm. Have fun!
I went to L.A with my family a few years ago. We went in December/January. It was really warm in the day but chilly in the early mornings and evenings so if you are going at that time make sure you have a warm jumper.
You definately have to visit Disney and Universal (as you have already decided to do) Universal has got loads of things from film sets and the jurassic park ride is really good but you get absolutely soaked!
I think we spent about three days in Disneyland but that's because I was with my family including young brother and sister so they wanted to meet all the characters etc, plus it was really busy over New Year.
You'll be alright with just one day because within 3 days I felt we had done absolutely everything and been an loads of things several times!! You could always use your spare day to go back if you really liked it as you said you don't have anything like that in NZ and it's pretty far away!
