I would also advise the same except for 2 points -
1. I think this woudl be too tight of a plan for only 4 weeks, and
2. You are missing Udaipur from the list.

So personally, since you are short on time, I would cut Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is one of the highlights of the region for sure, and its a sham to miss it. but it's so far out of the way that it's time consuming.
So I would suggeset something like -
Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Pushkar - Jodhpur - Udaipur - Mumbai - Goa
If you really want to see Jaisalmer, then I would cut out Jaipur and/ or Pushkar.

Yes agree its tight..would leave out pushkar...not jaipur..tho' its a personal choice...just love that city
cheers!

Hey! Let me know when you are going (weather needs to be a consideration), what you like to do/see and the sort of atmosphere you are looking for. If you only go to Rajasthan and Goa, I think you'd leave with a very distorted view of India. Rajasthan is a mental tourist trap where you will not get one second's peace and Goa, although lovely, is very westernised. I did a two month trip which incorporated most of Rajasthan, some of Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala and some of Tamil Nadu. My personal favourites were Hampi (very chilled out, some amazing temple ruins, beautiful scenery and sunrises/sets and able to see the way of life of the locals), Gokarna (spiritual kind of place where you can chill on some very quiet beaches-very backpacker orientated), Kerala backwaters (peaceful, beautiful scenery, Fort Cochin lovely), Varanasi (very holy place, amazing people, ghats, sunrise boat trips, nightly ceremonies - an experience I'll never forget!) and Jaiselmer (camel trekking!!! and generally great desert town). Do be careful not to just follow the crowd to Rajasthan. If I had of left after Rajasthan, I wouldn't have had a nice view of India or it's people...leaving after travelling the south, I love the place.

I would go with exactly that. Agra's a hellhole, but you'll probably want to see the Taj Mahal if its your first time. 4 weeks is plenty of time. Pushkar's a great spot but Jaisalmer is the key to this being a fantastic journey.

Khimsar stay in Fort or Dunes
Osian { 1 NT}
JODHPUR { stay at Umed Bhavan Palace , If affordable }
or Stay in Fort Chanwa Luni or Rohet Garh
