davestag has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

I am flying into Bangkok - stopping there for a couple of nights, then heading down to Phuket. Do the budget airlines have to be booked online or do can I book cheap tickets on the day in the airport?

Thanks in advance!

dave

Oooo id like to know the answer to this also.

Although i have looked at air asia and the flights are about £15 one way and are easy to book online.

They go from the new airport as not to miss out on international trade, the flight is about 1 hour.

I am doing that trip in july.

It's better to book advance online rather than buy the tickets at the airport as the ticket price might be higher when most of the seats are taken up. The flight from Bangkok to Phuket takes 1 hour 20 mins.

That's the discount airline of Thailand... all flights 1750 baht and you can book online. I booked the day before the flight and paid that. Nice planes, good service, no complaints!

go air asia.

www.airasia.com

I have done this route many times with air asia. I have also flown all over Thailand with them. The tickets are cheap and I have had no problems whatsoever every time I have flown with them.

I tried both a few times with Air Asia and it didn`t make much of a difference either or, most routes have a few flights daily, although it is a comfort to have a pre booked flight.

If you do book at the airport you might have to wait a few hours for the next available flight but I find time passes pretty quickly in these places anyway.

Also, I had actually also heard that prices at the airport would be higher but in my case this was actually opposite. For instance I looked up flights online for Krabi - Bangkok and the online price was 2500 baht but since I had short notice I couldn`t book through the website. Once I got to the airport I got the same flight for 1900 baht.
Other flights I booked at airports were usually same price as online or even lower like in this case.
