Just want to get peoples thoughts on cities that are a little overrated in Europe. For me I think it would be Amsterdam (from what I can remember!?) ;)

Amsterdam overrated? I don't think so. I loved it when I was there, it was beautiful.

Budapest is overrated as well, so is Copenhagen. And Barcelona and Berlin. And of course London.
Underrated are Oslo, Stockholm, Kiev and Odesa.

London is hugely overrated...Edinburgh also. Just crap package tour towns. Nice buildings etc but people not so friendly.

I agree. London is pretty rubbish and hugely overrated.

I found Madrid a whole lot of nothin'.

Madrid is a town you have to be in a little longer to appreciate, for the numbers of attractions, it's not much. But you have to see it as a stepping stone to some good daytrips, like Toledo, Segovia, Aranjuez, Chinchon etc. Two days for Madrid itself is ok, if you want to visit it as a tourist. But I have the opportunity to stay longer, and I love it. (Will be back in 10 days )

Most overrated city, would be Copenhagen in my opinion. (the mermaid and nyhavn, should rate incredibly high on the list of overrated tourist attractions)
