Dani girl has indicated that this thread is about Singapore

I have a longish stopover in Singapore (5 days) and wondering where I should book accommodation. I'm on a tightish budget but I don't want to stay anywhere too down-market.

Any help would be v gratefully received!

Many thanks,
Dani

When i were in Singapore,i stayed at the Oxford Hotel. Its cheap and sometimes the services will upset you. It's located behind SMU(Singapore Management University) and near Bugis Street. If i am not mistaken,it should be at Queens Street. There's a catholic church next to the hotel.;)

Hi Dani,
Depends on your budget, but the Hotel Rendezvous is fairly central and can be very reasonably priced (£38 per night for us, in '02)
It isn't far from an MTR station from the airport, and it has it's own restaurant and shops. The rooms were very nice for that price.

hey, all hotels in singapore costs quite expensive. its quite expensive to stay in singapore actually. yeah.

so the best is to get a hostel. 25++ per night, you shld get a good one.

for any accomodation that says HOTEL, think its going to be expensive.

I stayed in a place called the New 7th Storey in the dorm rooms there. It was excellent - many of the dorms only have 4 people and there are lockers big enough to keep your rucksack (unless, that is, you're travelling with a 90L ). It had TV, a/c, was super clean, a favourite among many people I met there. And one of the cheapest places in the area. Blimey, I should be getting commission

Here's their webpagehttp://www.nsshotel.com/accommodation.php

YMCA dorm, its central - right on Orchard Road i think, and fairly cheap ard 25 for a dorm room.... And u might want to consider budget hotels like fragrance hotel and hotel 81 as well.

Dani,

Singapore is a bit expensive city.If you are on a tight budget, suggest you to go for a dorm. I suggest YMCA would be better though there are other equally good hostels/hotels in S'pore.
