My husband and i will be arriving in nice mid october and are planning to make our way through france and fly out of paris in the first week of november. What are some must visit places that people recommend in our 3 week trip?

cities:
Marseille
Avignon
Aix-en-Provence
Arles
st Tropez
Nimes
Carcassone
Bourges (in the centre of France)

landscape:
provence area (triangle Aix-en-provence, sisteron, grasse)
alp area (triangle grenoble, gap, barcelonette)
departement Dordogne

sea:
les landes (bordeaux, mimizan, carcans)

Normandy is beatiful, too. Caen is a nice, inexpensive place to stay and within easy driving distance of the D-Day beaches. I hear St. Michel is also a must-see!

I have to say Carcassonne. It is an amazing place! If possible, try to get accommodation inside the Cité medievale..

im thinking of spending 4 days somewhere in france... somewhere with impressive landscape and walking/hiking trails, not a trek from an airport would be great! i really know nothing about the geography of france... :( and i speak ZERO french haha
