Did a quick google search and found this short list of free things to do (since you're a bit broke)
http://www.sydney.com.au/free.htm

Here are some other sites, but there may be costs involved

Weird and wonderful and costs a few Euro!

You could also take a trip to Fort Denison from Circular Quay
You could visit the Royal Botanic Gardens
You could go to the top of one the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylons, great views of the city and harbour, or if you have more cash take a climb across the top of the bridge itself.
If you can get out to the Blue Mountains, to Katoomba, take a trip on the Scenic Skyway or Scenic Railway(I really enjoyed this), see the Three Sisters, get some great views of New South Wales.

Enjoy

Visit the sites posted by mostrim. I was in Oz last year and had a great time. Hopefully, I can come back and visit the Gold Coast. I really enjoyed Taronga Zoo, relaxing in Bondi Beach, sitting back in Circular Quay. I really enjoy walking and I walked practically everywhere to the CBD, Hyde Park, Darling Harbour, ChinaTown, Convention Centre and a bunch of other places.

Crikey the weather here in Sydney has been fab the last few days. Hottest day in May on record on Friday :)

Try the Bondi to Bronte costal walk and the Spit to Manly one as well. Check out the Art gallery and Museum as they do free talks/classes on certain nights. Pick up a copy of the Drum media magazine as this gives you all the gigs and you can get great ones around the Newtown area. Blue Mountains are definitely worth doing but I would suggest one of the longer treks as the three sisters are just a couple rocks and there's great treks down into the valley. I know you're broke but maybe a Hunter Wine valley tour, I believe there are ones for backpackers and you get to spend the day wine tasting :). Whilst the water still has a bit of heat, rent a surf board for $25 at Bondi (they'll give you a rashie) and have hours of fun in the surf whilst getting a great workout.

Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Yes to all of the above.

Hunter wine trip is probably underrated. If your a TV fan catch the 190 bus all the way up the penisnuls to Palm NBeach. Then even get on a ferry across pitwater to The Basin and you can walk around Kurangai.

Maybe even get on the bus out to Watsons Bay and hang out on the cliffs and walk around .
