Anyone kept a travel journal before? Would you recommend one?
Which would be the best one to get?

Try a blog - if you have access to a computer over your travels it is the best way and then friends and family can access it and keep up to date with your latest antics!

AND even better you are on TP already so you can simply set up one from your control panel. The TP blog will also allow you to up load your photos and insert them into your blog to make it more interesting!

For more detail and explained properly post in System Talk!

What l do tend to do is take a note book and make a few notes abot what l got up to each day so that l can write up my blog when l get to a computer or when l get home!

Good luck with it!

I keep a travel journal. (or journalS I should say. ive had to send a few home already). It's a great thing to have when you have a bit of down time on a trip. (waiting for bus/train or whatever).

I also have religiously kept a blog for my friends and family back home which is just an account of what I've been up to and a place to store photos.

The journals are more for myself.

If you have the time, i.e. if you're travelling for quite a while, it's nice to do both I think. The blog is usually entertaining or whatever because you are writing it for other people whereas you can allow your journal to be more reflective and include personal private experiences.

When i was on a SUPER long bus journey once in Patagonia, I had nothing to read on the bus, so I took out the journal I had been keeping through South America and read it from front to back, and it was a lovely way to put down a few hours reading back over all the amazing experiences I'd had during those months.

Thank you for your replies. My brothers got me this really cool journal to write in. I'm really excited to start using it!

I'd recommend taking pictures, lots of them. It makes it much easier to create a blog /journal when you have pictures to remind you of what you did each day.

Keeping a notepad can be helpful also for times when you cant just click or where photos aren't enough.
