Me and a friend (both about to turn 24) have about 2 weeks in August to go somewhere in Southeast Asia.

As we only have limited time, I'd started to think about the possibility of organised tours (i started to look at STA travels adventure trips).

I was just wondering if anyone can give me any advice about these? Has anyone gone on such a trip? How well organised are they? They seem quite fast-paced, do you actually have enough time to see things when you get to a place? Are they worth the money? Do you stick with the same group of travellers for the whole trip?

Any advice would be great :-) thanks!!

Hi Donz,

Organized travel takes a lot of worry and planning out of the tour. You do stick with the same people for the entire tour. The tours are a bit fast paced but you get just about enough time in a place.

Companies like STA / OntheGo / Imaginative Traveller are good value for money. They're very professional also.

I think it depends on how adventurous you and your friend are. If not very and not willing to do the research before hand then pay the extra money and take a organised tour. Alternatively, if you dont mind a little adventure then it would be better to do it by yourself.

There are many people here who do not take organised tours, rather they research themselves and do it themselves, which is what I am hoping to do this summer!

I dont think they are that good value for monry to be honest, last I looked they were pricey. BUT, they do take away alot of the headache by organising everything for you. A friend of mine went on one with STA in Europe and she said she had a great time and met some great people.

Whatever you do, enjoyyy
